Finnius maintains its position in Chambers FinTech 2020
We are proud to announce that the renowned international league table Chambers has recommended Finnius again in its FinTech 2020 edition in the category FinTech: Legal. We have been included in band 2. This is the same band as last year.
Chambers writes: “Finnius is one of the largest financial regulatory law boutiques in the Netherlands. Its staff are predominately senior practitioners with years of experience in previous roles at larger, international law firms. The firm combines both non-contentious and contentious regulatory services in advising on MiFID and PSD2 as well as assisting in sensitive investigations and enforcement proceedings. The firm often lobbies directly with the legislator on behalf of clients.”
In addition, the following quotes are mentioned: “They have a strong case on the regulatory end and a few people who were former regulators. We envy that a little because they’re staffed so well. It characterises them as a very focused regulatory team.” And: “Finnius can handle questions really fast on regulation. They can reach out to the regulator and just ask them. They’re really practical and tell you how to implement it in the best way. Always a fast reply from them.”

Furthermore, Casper Riekerk has been singled out as one of the recommended lawyers. Chambers writes: “Casper Riekerk is a partner who focuses on market access issues and compliance matters. His expertise extends to litigation against supervisory authorities and criminal investigations into financial institutions. Riekerk spent over 12 years of his career at the Dutch Central Bank, lastly as head of the enforcement department. “Casper is really pragmatic,” insists a market expert, “he really knows what things are important for an entrepreneur.””
