Joris Viellevoije

Senior Associate

Joris Viellevoije is a lawyer in Finnius’ litigation practice. He litigates in civil law disputes between financial market parties. He also assists clients in administrative proceedings and enforcement proceedings against the Dutch financial supervisors.

Joris is a goal-oriented lawyer with a keen analytical skill. He focuses on the interests of his clients, thinks strategically and strives for the best outcome in every case, in or outside the courtroom.

He has experience with disputes in the field of FinTechs and new market entrants, investing and asset management, crypto assets and the regulation of new and complex financial products and instruments. He also has experience in discussions about terminations of banking relationships and in the field of duties of care in the financial sector.

Joris completed his master’s degree in Financial Law at Radboud University Nijmegen and also attended the Interdisciplinary Honours Program of the Radboud Honours Academy. In addition, he studied for one year in Santa Barbara, California and attended two summer schools at Gujarat National Law University (India) and Peking University (China).

Before Joris switched to Finnius, he worked in the Financial Litigation practice of the Brandeis agency.

Based on this registration, Bart is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in this registered legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
