Consultation review AIFM Directive

What?
On October 22, the European Commission launched a consultation regarding the review of the AIFM Directive. On the basis of specific questions, stakeholders are able to share their views regarding the manner in which the AIFM Directive currently functions in practice, such as with regard to the European passport system. This input will be taken into account by the Commission in the envisaged upcoming review of the AIFM Directive. The aim of the Commission is to publish a proposal to amend the AIFM Directive in Q3 2021.

Who?
The consultation is particularly relevant for (managers of) alternative investment funds (AIFMs and AIFs), but also for depositaries, investors, industry associations and other stakeholders.

When?
The deadline for responding to the consultation is January 29, 2021.
