Finnius congratulates Carbon Equity on launch of ELTIF

Carbon Equity is launching the first European long-term investment fund (ELTIF) approved by the AFM in the Netherlands. An ELTIF is a special type of investment fund. An ELTIF primarily invests in unlisted assets that are generally held for the longer term, such as private companies, infrastructure, or real estate. The ELTIF Regulation has recently been amended, including with respect to the permitted investment policy employed by ELTIFs, making it easier to structure an ELTIF. With these amendments, the European Commission aimed at unlocking long-term investments in the green and digital transition and driving sustainable growth across the EU. After approval by the AFM, a licensed fund manager can offer an ELTIF with a European passport to European retail investors. This is a unique feature of an ELTIF.

Carbon Equity’s ELTIF invests in underlying investment funds that in turn invest in European climate technology companies and infrastructure projects that contribute to the energy transition. Finnius assisted Carbon Equity in structuring the ELTIF. We congratulate Carbon Equity on this milestone and wish Carbon Equity lots of success in marketing the fund!

On behalf of Finnius, Tim de Wit and Maurice van Oosten were involved in this ELTIF project.
